How many resorts does Sands Resorts have?
Two, both oceanfront in northern Myrtle Beach: Sand Dunes Resort at 201 74th Avenue North, and North Shore Oceanfront Hotel at 201 75th Avenue North. You may see other Myrtle Beach resorts listed alongside ours in places — those are marketing partners, not Sands properties.
How far apart are the two resorts?
One avenue. Sand Dunes is on 74th Avenue North and North Shore is on 75th Avenue North, both oceanfront on the same stretch of beach in northern Myrtle Beach.
Is the waterpark free?
It depends which resort you book. Every North Shore Oceanfront Hotel guest gets free admission. At Sand Dunes Resort, admission is included whenever the stay is booked through Sands Resorts — directly or through a travel site. The one exception is a unit let by an outside rental company rather than by Sands Resorts — those stays are not covered, so it is worth checking who you are booking through.
Which resort is the waterpark at?
It is one shared facility, onsite at our resorts, so guests at either property use the same waterpark. It holds 130,000 gallons of water and includes a lazy river, waterslides, waterfall pools, a splash zone with a swinging bucket, an aquatic treehouse, a kiddie-pool playground and a bubble pool.
When is the waterpark open?
Hours are seasonal and weather permitting. Contact reservations for the current season’s hours before you plan a day around it.
Which resort is better for families?
It depends on how many bedrooms you need. Sand Dunes has one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, villas and condos across eight buildings — that is the fit for larger families, multi-generational trips and two families sharing. North Shore’s seven room types run from oceanview rooms and studios to one-bedroom units and penthouses, which suits smaller families well. Both are oceanfront; the waterpark is free for every North Shore guest, and at Sand Dunes it comes with any stay booked through Sands Resorts.
Which resort has meeting or event space?
The meeting space is shared, and it sits at North Shore. It has 14,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, in six meeting rooms from 1,000 to 6,000 square feet, for groups of up to 400 attendees. Weddings, reunions, corporate meetings, sports groups and tour groups all go through Sands Resorts group sales on 843-692-5266.
Do both resorts have indoor pools?
Yes. Both have an oceanfront outdoor pool and an indoor pool. North Shore’s indoor pool is open year round and has a large whirlpool beside it.
Can I book a room block across both resorts?
Ask group sales. For reunions and larger parties where some people want a condo with bedrooms and others want a hotel room, splitting the block across two properties a minute apart is often the better arrangement.
What is the difference in the accommodations?
Sand Dunes is a campus of eight buildings — villas and towers — with multi-bedroom units, including larger three-bedroom condos in the North Tower and one- and two-bedroom executive suites in the South Tower. North Shore is a single oceanfront hotel with seven room types. If you need three bedrooms, Sand Dunes is the property that has them.
Is there a restaurant on site?
Both have oceanfront dining. North Shore has Salt & Lime, a Latin American restaurant with indoor and outdoor oceanfront seating and a full bar.
Why book direct instead of through a travel site?
