MYRTLE BEACH’S SANDS RESORTS ANNOUNCES DONATIONS TO “GULF RESTORATION
NETWORK”
Support is Underway for Gulf Coast Areas.
May 4, 2010, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina -
Sands Resorts, operators of six Myrtle Beach, South Carolina resorts has
volunteered to donate 10% of all revenues received from displaced Gulf Coast
vacationers to the Gulf Restoration Network. Sands CEO, Lee Rawcliffe, whose
company owns and operates oceanfront beach resorts says they understand the many
threats that confront beach resorts and those who enjoy spending summer holidays
at the ocean’s edge. “Those of us in the business know and understand the very
fragile nature of our beaches. We all compete just like other businesses, but we
are family when it comes to protecting and restoring our beaches and coastline”,
said Rawcliffe.
Hotels.com and Expedia.com will be working with Sands Resorts in this
effort to benefit our neighbors and the many families preparing for their summer
vacation at the beach. All three web sites: Sandsresorts.com – Hotels.com – and
Expedia.com will offer the packages and room types under the heading of “Gulf
Restoration Network”.
The Sands family of resorts includes restaurants, a water park, an
inflatables playground, spas, Ocean Annie’s Beach Bar, and free on-site
entertainment and shows. The Ocean Dunes and Sand Dunes Resorts are also the
home of the “Hall of Heroes” honoring those Americans who have given their lives
in the line of service to our Country. Rawcliffe says he is familiar with the
Gulf Coast and its people and is sure they will make a full and rapid recovery.
