The course also winds through a maritime forest and wraps around fifteen freshwater lagoons. Architect George Cobb, consultant to Augusta National, left much of the land the way he found it - carved by wind and water. The ocean wind always plays a role in club selection and shot-making. The golf course recalls the early days of golf design when landscape architects allowed the land to reveal its own character, challenge, and inspiration. A long, mature course, it offers a refreshing opportunity for golfers to experience the game the way it was originally intended to be played.
